The free annual nighttime festival Illuminus returns to downtown Boston on

December 5 and 6 for its fifth edition. Local artists, designers and creative technologists will turn a section of the Financial District into an immersive art experience.

During the two-night event, organizers will present large-scale digital and video art projections, and interactive installations, surrounded by a seamless soundscape that connects all areas of the festival. Visitors can play in pools of colored light, engage with thought-provoking works, groove to live DJs, all while sipping cups of hot cocoa.

This year’s Illuminus festival is centered in Downtown Boston’s Financial District, including sections of High Street, Summer Street and Federal Street, as well as Milton Place.
