Summer officially kicks off on June 21, which marks the longest day of the year. Kick off the season at the free Summer Solstice Celebration at the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture.

From 5-9 p.m., enjoy free admission to four museums: the Harvard Museum of Natural History, the Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, and the Harvard Semitic Museum.

Make a summer crown with fresh flowers and greens to wear during the event, and let the kids marvel at circus performers. Fire jumping, flame tattoos, and food trucks round out the evening's special offerings, plus a chance to explore all the museums' treasures.
