Tinkergarten, an early childhood education program that features outdoor nature-based classes, is offering a free summer program for kids to participate in at home.

Camp Tinkergarten, which kicks off June 20, will provide families with a free guide to eight full weeks of purposeful play at home, including playful, outdoor learning activities and insightful resources for parents on how to get the most out of their summer.

Activities are designed for four age groups: babies, toddlers, preschoolers and elementary aged kids. Each camp week is centered around a different core Tinkergarten skill, including persistence, creativity, focus, and empathy.

Parents can join Camp Tinkergarten at any time, as each week is independent of the others. Upon signing up, you'll receive eight weeks of activity guides, instructions to set up your space, schedule and rituals for camp, and a printable “trail map” to track progress and celebrate weekly milestones.

At the close of camp, Tinkergarten will host “The Great Tinkergarten Camp Out/Camp In” on Aug. 15, a national virtual event complete with sing-a-longs, read alouds, games.
