The Charlton Arts & Activities Center is hosting its 5th Annual Blueberry Festival on Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 4 Dresser Hill Rd., Charlton. Admission is free.

This family friendly festival will feature much more than berries -- although fresh blueberries, and berry treats like pies and shortcakes will be available, of course. Children can enjoy horse rides, face painting, sand art and henna tattoos, a bounce house and a live animal show. The fun will take place to the tune of live music all day long.

Plan on going? Bring your appetite -- pie eating contests are scheduled throughout the day, and broken into separate age categories.

Extra parking is available at the town common, Charlton Public Library, and Burlingame Road Elementary School, which is all within walking distance. Festival-goes can also park at Bay Path Regional High School on Muggett Hill Road and hop on a free shuttle provided by Tree House Brewery.
