The secret ingredient in these yummy waffles is lemon yogurt, but you can substitute another flavor for variety.

 

 

Ingredients 

3 cups strawberries, sliced

½ cup margarine or butter, melted

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

2 cups nonfat or lowfat lemon yogurt (about 3 cartons)

2 eggs





Directions

Place flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt on a large bowl and mix with a whisk until blended.

Place yogurt and eggs in a medium-size bowl and mix with a whisk until blended; add to the flour mixture and blend together.

Add melted butter to batter mix until well blended. Batter will be very thick.

Use a spoon to place about ¾ cup batter on center of waffle iron, close and cook for about 5 minutes, or until done.

Serve waffles topped with strawberries.
