Smithsonian Magazine's annual free Museum Day returns to the state, with plenty of chances to explore the state's museums
Museums all around the nation will offer free admission on Saturday including 55 here in the Bay State.
September 22 is Museum Day, an annual event organized by Smithsonian Magazine that provides free admission at participating museums for anyone who registers and prints out a Museum Day ticket. One ticket admits two people at no cost.
The theme of this year’s Museum Day is “Women Making History,”honoring women in society who are trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation and culture, and emboldening others to be pioneers as well. Museum Day 2018 invites participating museums to create programming to support this initiative.
Museums in Massachusetts participating in Museum Day include the Discovery Museum in Acton, The Children's Museum in Easton, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, and dozens more. You can search all participating museums and download your ticket here.
