Home sweet home.
The Bay State is the best state to raise a family, according to a newly published study.
WalletHub released their rankings of all 50 states in its report on 2018’s Best & Worst States to raise a family. Massachusetts edged out Minnesota for the top spot. Other New England states New Hampshire and Vermont made the top five.
The study compared 42 key indicators of family-friendliness. The data set ranges from median family salary to housing affordability to unemployment rate. It also ranked each state from 1-50 in the areas of family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability and socio-economics.
While it notched the first place spot overall, Massachusetts was ranked as one of the worst states for high childcare costs, just above New Mexico and New York.
