Boston Pops Offers Family Concerts, Deep Discounts

The Boston Pops will present three family concerts this spring offering 50% discount tickets for children ages 17 and younger at select performances.

E.T. In Concert
As part of the Boston Pops’ season-long celebration of John Williams’ 85th birthday in February 2017, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops unleash the magic of Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on May 12-13. The Pops will perform the full Academy Award-winning score to this Best Picture nominee while the movie plays above the stage at Symphony Hall. The 3 p.m. family matinee on Saturday, May 13, offers 50% off tickets for children ages 17 and younger. Other performances: Friday, May 12, 8 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 8 p.m.

Mamma Mia! Mother’s Day with the Music of ABBA
Following their successful Boston Pops debut in Nantucket in 2015, Arrival From Sweden returns to the Boston Pops stage, May 14-15, to celebrate ABBA. Arrival From Sweden and the Boston Pops will perform a concert of ABBA’s greatest hits including, “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Waterloo, ” and “Fernando.” The 3 p.m. concert on Sunday, May 14, offers 50% off tickets for children ages 17 and younger, as well as a special Mother’s Day Brunch ticket package. Additional performance: Monday, May 15, 8 p.m.

Cirque de la Symphonie
Following wildly popular performances in 2014 and 2015, the Boston Pops is delighted to bring back Cirque de la Symphonie’s magical fusion of circus with live orchestral music, June 2-3 (pictured at top). Aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and strongmen are among the talented artists who will take the stage as the Boston Pops perform their own spectacular musical feats. Critics say Cirque de la Symphonie will “mesmerize adults and children,” with “a breathtaking display of agility and incomparable beauty.” These concerts will also feature some of the unforgettable film music of Boston Pops Conductor Laureate John Williams as part of a season-long tribute to the composer’s body of work. The 3 p.m. concert on Saturday, June 3, offers 50% off tickets for children ages 17 and younger. Other performances: Friday, June 2, 8 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 8 p.m.
