Non-profit organization Journeys in Film is offering a free curriculum guide for high school teachers centered around the award-winning movie, Hidden Figures.
The group has prepared eight free, comprehensive, standards-aligned lesson plans for secondary students around the experience of the African-American women, known as “human computers,” who worked at the NASA Center in Langley, Virginia, and provided a foundation for the modern space program in the pre-civil rights era. The group notes: “Their lives modeled vital lessons in confidence, structural equity, and academic excellence that apply to all students today.”
Secondary school educators can download the free curriculum guide here. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is offering a complimentary DVD copy of the film to U.S. high schools. Teachers are encouraged to visit foxconnect.com/
