Meeting the Cover Model
Q & A with Allie Cottrill, photographer of this month’s cover model, Nancy Kerrigan OF LYNNFIELD
What was it like meeting Nancy
Kerrigan?
She was super! She was warm and made me feel comfortable in her home. What stood out was that Nancy was incredibly loving and attentive to her little kids without being sugary. She’s not prissy with her kids. She’s like, “Come on guys, get your boots on!”
How did the photo shoot go?
I am all about the kids, so I walked in and went straight for them. I played tea party with the little one. Brian, the 4-yearold, kept looking at me through jars and making faces. It was magic. He was adorable. And 13-year-old Matthew is an old soul who seems incredible happy. His parents are doing a great job!
Tell us about Nancy’s home:
It’s not a shrine to the Olympics. It’s a cozy home in a regular neighborhood. She’s all about comfort for her family. She had just come from her parents’ house who live just ten minutes away and mentioned family several times during the shoot.
What was your overall impression of
Nancy Kerrigan?
Twenty years ago, Nancy Kerrigan came across as a little girl with her pretty smile and pretty hair, but I could tell she is strong. She is her own woman with her own opinions. She’s got a nice Massachusetts edge to her, a good sense of humor. I’d love to have her as a friend. She was cool.
