MEET THIS MONTH'S COVER MODEL
Abby Cottrill, age 13, of Carlisle
1. How do you feel about being the baystateparent August cover model? I'm really excited. I've been trying to model for a while now, so this is a great opportunity.
2.What can you tell us about the day this photo was taken? I had so much fun taking this photo. My mom is a photographer, so one day, we woke up and said, 'Let's do a photo-shoot!' So I put on one of my favorite dresses (the one on the cover) and drove to one of the fields near our house. When the picture was being taken, my mom was telling me to smile but still have a calm face.
3. How are you spending your summer? A lot of just hanging out with my friends and going on vacation. We just went to a Jonas Brothers concert! 4. Where are some of your favorite places
in Massachusetts? I love to go to our country store in Carlisle, called Ferns. My friends and I always go there after school to hang out because it's walking distance from the school.
5. Who has the best ice cream around? Definitely Kimballs. The ice cream is so good! And, when you order a small size, they give you the serving size of a large!
6. What's the best thing about growing up in Carlisle? One of the things I love best about Carlisle is how small it is. It's really easy to become friends with everyone when there aren't that many people in the town.
7. Describe your family. Fun and cool, but they can always figure out some way to embarrass me in public.
8. If you could start your own magazine, what would it be about? Definitely fashion. I love keeping up with what's 'in' this season.
9. What are your parents doing a really good job at? They always support me when I'm in a difficult situation. They will always talk to me about it.
10. How do you feel about back to school? I'm entering 8th grade at Carlisle Public School. I feel excited and nervous at the same time. I think starting the new school year is just starting fresh.
