Shannon Gray, co-owner of Tush Denim in Worcester, makes a $150 pair of jeans sound like a bargain.

Think of the money we waste on jeans that end up not really fitting. "If you would just buy one good pair of jeans," says Shannon, "you could wear them five days in a row with a different shirt, look amazing every day in a pair that really complements you, and throw away the ten baggy pairs that don't fit."

This echoes what Alisa Neely of Scout, a top Boston stylist, said in baystateparent last month, "I know it seems insane to think about spending hundreds of dollars on what used to cost only $40, but it is worth it when you see what the pocket placement and stretch do to your derriere."
