Sunday, March 9

Annual Worcester County St. Patrick's Day Parade. Begins at Mill St. and follows Park Ave., Worcester. Noon. Celebrate the Irish of Central Massachusetts, who began settling in the Worcester area as early as 1718. In 1825 Irish immigrants came to Worcester to build the city's canals and roadways, and the community flourished thereafter. 508-755-1855 or 508-753-7187. www.stpatsparade.com.

13th Annual Parade. Gates Middle School, First Parish Rd., Scituate. 1 p.m. Parade proceeds down First Parish Rd. to Front St., Scituate Harbor. Then it turns right onto Jericho Rd., ending at the Town Pier. Scituate is nicknamed the Irish Riviera, since many Irish politicians like James Michael Curley and the Kennedys liked to vacation there in summer. 781-545-6671 or e-mail kelley.edward@comcast.net.

107th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Begins at Broadway T-stop and ends at Andre Square, South Boston. 1 p.m. Colorful floats, music, and good cheer celebrate the city's Irish heritage in Boston's most Irish neighborhood jutting into Boston Harbor. 617-635-3911.

Sunday, March 30

55th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Starts at Kmart Plaza, Northampton St., Holyoke. 11:30 a.m. This is the second largest Irish parade in the country. Visit www.newsite.holyokestpatricksparade.com for viewing sites.
