Earth Day is Sunday, April 22. In my house, it's a really good time to look for recycling centers to get rid of our paint cans, old computers and more cluttering up the garage. Aside from clean up, there are lots of events around the Bay State this weekend including this one in Harvard.

FAMILY FRIENDLY EARTH DAY FUN

AT FRUITLANDS ON SUNDAY!

 

Museum’s 210 acres of natural beauty to be focus of day’s outdoor activities;

events all free with regular admission

 

Harvard, Mass. (April 20, 2012) – Fruitlands has announced that family-friendly Earth Day fun will be the highlight of the weekend’s activities on Sunday, April 22^nd.

Scheduled highlights will include a hike to the Native American hunting ground, a watercycle game and storytime.  They will take place on the half hour from 11 A.M. until noon, and then again from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.

Additional activities will also be available throughout the day, including crafting nature journals, making garden stakes, planting a new flax garden on the grounds, playing lawn games at the Farmhouse, and opportunities to hike and picnic. 

 “We like to think that every day is Earth Day at Fruitlands, given our amazing setting here, but this Sunday really gives us the opportunity to showcase with our visitors, both young and old, the abundance of natural beauty that abounds on our grounds,” said Maggie Green, Fruitlands Director of Education and Public Programming.  “The Earth Day activities on Sunday will be educational and entertaining, and appropriate for all ages.”

Fruitlands Museum – A New England Tradition Since 1914
